Balanga Wetland and Nature Park & Mt. Samat

Balanga Wetlands

The wetland and nature park in the City of Balanga hosts thousands of migratory birds, flying in almost every day during the migration season. It is considered a natural outdoor museum, showcasing the magnificence of a well-diversified biological network. Credit the local government for building a sanctuary, these birds are protected from being hunted and killed.

The site is not only an alley but a haven for these creatures. Every year, the City holds the Ibong Dayo Festival where people celebrate and give admiration to migratory birds. Structures (view decks and picnic huts) were built for visitors to have a safe and meaningful encounter with the birds. Birds feed early in the morning and late in the afternoon (near sunset).
